You found this page for a reason. Most women who arrive here already know something is wrong — they just haven't had the words for it yet.

This is for you if...

  • You have spent years walking on eggshells, wondering what you did wrong, apologising for things that were not your fault.

  • You kept the house running, kept the children happy, kept the social face intact — while quietly disappearing inside.

  • Something has shifted recently. Maybe you have left. Maybe you are still inside it. Maybe the relationship ended long ago and you still do not feel free. Wherever you are, you are not behind.

You are not too far gone. You are not to old to rebuild. You are not the problem.

Not sure where to start? Begin here.

If you are still in the relationship, or have only recently left, or are not even certain yet that what you experienced counts as abuse — this is the right place to start.

"Why Do I Feel Like This Is My Fault?" is a free guide. It walks through six stages women move through when something is wrong in a relationship but they cannot quite name it.

It was written for the woman who still second-guesses herself. The woman who has Googled 'am I overreacting' at 2am. The woman who can feel that something is wrong but cannot explain it to anyone else.

Who I am

My name is Catherine. I spent 29 years in a marriage that slowly and systematically dismantled the person I was. I did not leave dramatically. I left quietly, and then I spent years rebuilding everything — my identity, my confidence, my finances, my sense of what I was capable of.

I am not a therapist or a psychologist. I do not have letters after my name. What I have is something more specific than that: I have been exactly where you are. And I came out the other side.

At nearly 60, I own property, I sail solo, I have built financial independence from scratch, and I write for the women who are still in the middle of it. Not to tell you what to do. To show you what is possible.

I write only under my first name. That is deliberate. This is not about settling old scores. It is written for you. That distinction has always mattered to me.
